Dell’s new Android and Windows Phone 7 Handsets, Tablets Leaked

Dell Lightning Windows Phone 7

According to the news leaked at Engadget , Dell is going to launch 5 new mobile handsets  and two tablet devices  in Q3 and Q4. In this news we are going to cover the mobile handsets which will be followed by another news about the tablets.

Except the Windows Phone 7 handset by the name “Lightning”, the other four, namely “Thunder”, “Flash”, “Smoke” and “Aero” are all Android phones.

Dell Lightning is, just as mentioned, a portrait slide type Windows Phone 7 running handset. It boasts 4.1-inch WVGA OLED display, 1GHz QSD8250 Snapdragon CPU, 1GB of flash ROM with 512MB DDR SDRAM plus 8GB MicroSD card, 5MP autofocus camera, full Flash support including video playback, 3G, WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1, support for H.263/H.264, 3GP, MPEG4, WMV, DivX 4.x/5.x/6.x, GPS, G-sensor, e-compass, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor and the LTE version will be available in Q4 of 2011.

Dell Thunder is equipped with a  4.1-inch WVGA OLED display with  Dell “Stage” UI  which is according to Engadget “much different (and classier)” than what they’ve seen on the Streak or Aero. It has Facebook and Twitter apps, Flash 10.1 for watching web videos, swype text entry system, integrated web video Hulu app, 8 megapixel camera and the LTE version is planned to launched by the end of 2011.

Dell Flash is running on Android Froyo OS and is equipped with 3.5” WVGA TFT display, Qualcomm MSM7230 CPU@800MHz, 512MB RAM/ 512MB ROM plus up to 64GB of storage on microSD card, 5MPcamera with LED Flash, Continuous Digital Zoom 8x, Image Stabilization as well as Video and Audio record, Flash 10 support, Web 2.0 full HTML, WAP, WiFi b/g+UPnP/DLNA, AGPS,Bluetooth 3.0, Handwriting recognition, E-compass, proximity sensor..

Dell Smoke, just like the Flash, runs on Android Froyo OS, is equipped with Qualcomm MSM7230 CPU@800MHz, has  Web 2.0 full HTML, WAP and Flash 10 support. Other specs include 2.8” QVGA TFT, 5MP camera with  Auto Focus and Digital zoom, 512MB/256MB internal memory and up to 32GB of microSD, capture/playback/ streaming of videos in H.264/MPEG4,  WiFi (b/g), AGPS, Over-the-Air-Sync (OTA), Bluetooth v2.1 +EDR, digital compass, Voice command/dial, proximity sensor and Document viewer (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF).

Dell Aero seems to be least impressive of these new models. It runs on Android 1.5,  sports a  3.5’’ 640 x 360 capacitive mutitouch screen, 24MHz Marvell CPU, QuickOffice, supports Microsoft ActiveSync and Exchange,  feature a WebKit browser with Flash Lite and a media player.
