As we know windows 8 ready to install on the tablets, and the news say the first to market with Windows 8 tablet is Lenovo, Lenovo isn’t the company that jumps to my mind as a likely first to bring one of these tablets to market.A source told The Verge that Lenovo is planning to be the first company to launch Windows 8 tablet and that the company expects Windows 8 to launch in October. There are no details on the tablet Lenovo plans to launch, but the source says it will use an Intel processor. That Intel processor would seemingly indicate it will be one the more expensive Windows 8 tablets.

Dell already plans on offering an enterprise focused tablet on the day Windows 8 ships.

Ready to start Crossrail dig by giant tunnel boring machinesk That means its time to break out the TBM beasts. Over 490 feet long and topping 1,000 metric tons, these giant metal moles will slowly carve new tunnels under the city at about 330 feet per week. At that rate the Crossrail won’t open until 2018 but, until then, we can all sleep soundly knowing that machines more than thrice as tall as a man are slowly eating away at the largest city in the British Isles from underneath. For more images of London’s mayor, Boris Johnson, standing next to the German-made monstrosities, dressed in his daddy’s suit hit up the source link.

Today, the first of eight enormous machines, each 150 metres long and weighing 1,000 tonnes, will begin their journey to the Royal Oak Portal in west London from where, next week, they will start tunnelling 6.4 km (four miles) east to Farringdon via Bond Street and Tottenham Court Road. The machines are equivalent to 14 London buses end to end with enough force to lift over 2,900 London taxis.

When Crossrail opens in 2018, it will increase London’s rail-based transport network capacity by 10 per cent, support regeneration across the capital and the south east, help to secure London’s position as a world leading financial centre, and dramatically cut journey times across the city. Latest economic forecasts suggest that Crossrail will add up to £42 bn to the economy as well as create thousands of skilled jobs and training opportunities. More than 3,000 people are currently working directly on Crossrail, which is Europe’s largest construction project, and thousands more across the UK are working to provide materials and services.

The best news for Olympus lovers, Olympus PEN E-PL3 gets a price tag release date, and what about sps ! E-PL3 will be available in black, white, red, and silver when it ships in September.
Priced at $700, the kit will include either a 14-42mm zoom or 17mm fixed lens, and will retail for a full c-note higher than its predecessor, the E-PL2. Olympus also announced the VF-3 Electronic Viewfinder (EVF), which will feature a 100-percent field-of-view, 90-degree rotation, and brightness and color temperature adjustments — though it sounds like that last feature could potentially leave you with off-color images if you mistake the EVF’s white balance for what the camera will capture.

Press release :

Available in September, the Olympus PEN E-PL3 will be sold at the affordable price of $699.99 and will deliver amazing image quality and lightning fast speed for brilliant still images and high-definition (HD) video. It will ship bundled with either a wide-angle zoom M.Zuiko 14-42mm lens (28mm-84mm equivalent), optimized for fast autofocus (AF) and silent AF operation, or the M. Zuiko 17mm ultra-compact and portable wide-angle pancake lens (34mm equivalent).

The PEN E-PL3 is a member of the Olympus PEN family of compact system cameras that also includes the new E-P3 and E-PM1. Designed to help innovation seekers capture and share their unique visions, the Olympus PEN E-PL3 combines pro quality with the portability of a point-and-shoot and features found on bulkier DSLR-type cameras.

Olympus also expands the power of its PEN Micro Four Thirds system family today with the introduction of the compact VF-3 Electronic Viewfinder. Attractively priced at $179.99, the VF-3 easily attaches to Olympus PEN models with an accessory port, as well as the Olympus XZ-1 for eye-level convenience.

Packs a Powerful Punch in a Small Package

The E-PL3 offers something for everyone. Packed with the technology and image quality normally found in a DSLR, it’s the size of a small, portable point-and-shoot camera and can easily travel with you. Its 3-inch, tilting high-resolution LCD screen helps you see high above the crowd to capture amazing stills and HD video of live performances, sports events and more. Easily move to eye-level to capture superb detail of children at play or even lower to the ground to record baby’s first steps or a pet soundly sleeping. Never worry about missing a spontaneous moment because the E-PL3 shoots at 5 frames per second.

Offering the versatility of interchangeable lenses, excellent quality low-light shooting thanks to the camera’s AF Illuminator, a high ISO of up to 12,800, with a blazing fast autofocus system, a 12.3-megapixel Live MOS Image Sensor and TruePic™ VI Image Processor, the Olympus PEN E-PL3 becomes the ultimate travel companion. Discretely document all of the color and pageantry of the city, even in low-light, as you make your way to your next destination.

Staying in for a more relaxed evening at home? Tech-enthusiasts will want to keep the E-PL3 ready by their side to capture friends and family, while showcasing their creativity. Easy-to-use technologies like in-camera Art Filters and image effects empower users to apply their unique artistic vision to images and videos so they can easily share professional-quality creations. Accessing all of the camera’s options is quick and easy with a new intuitive interface.

See the World through Your Own Eye

The VF-3 is perfect for photographers who like the option of holding the camera up to their eye to compose. With 100-percent field-of-view, none of the recordable subject area is cropped, making composition with the VF-3 easy and accurate. The magnification and built-in diopter adjustment of the VF-3 allow for easy viewing. The VF-3 can be rotated up to 90-degrees to accommodate more obscure shooting angles for additional creative control. Furthermore, if you are the kind of person who likes to tweak the settings on your TV, you’ll love the ability to adjust the brightness and color temperature to your own particular tastes.

“The Olympus PEN E-PL3 is designed to capture spontaneous, authentic moments in amazing detail without the need to sacrifice portability or quality,” said Katie Roseman, senior product manager, Olympus Imaging America Inc. “We’ve packed the affordable E-PL3 with technologies and image quality normally found in bigger DSLR-type cameras. Now, with the new VF-3, consumers can get more of a DSLR-like experience from our cameras by looking through the viewfinder to compose the shot.”

The Olympus PEN E-PL3 kit will be available in black, white, red and silver, starting in September 2011. The kit includes the PEN E-PL3 body, lens, USB cable, video cable, BLS-1 Li-Ion battery pack, Li-Ion battery charger, shoulder strap, OLYMPUS [ib] software CD-ROM, manuals and registration card.

A doodle is a type of sketch, an unfocused drawing made while a person’s attention is otherwise occupied. Doodles are simple drawings that can have concrete representational meaning or may just be abstract shapes.
The word doodle first appeared in the early 17th century to mean a fool or simpleton. The meaning “fool, simpleton” is intended in the song title “Yankee Doodle”, originally sung by British colonial troops prior to the American Revolutionary War.

Google Nexus S, with the new Android 2.3 “Gingerbread” operating system manufactured by Samsung,. This is a phone that was designed with direct input from the Google Android team.

nexus s

- Features of Nexus S :

Refined look and feel:

There’s a slick black notification bar that’s easier to read and an improved on-screen keyboard with multi-touch support that makes typing faster and more accurate.

One-touch word selection and improved copy-paste:

With Gingerbread, copying and pasting text is easier than ever. Use the new text selection tool to copy and paste when entering text or viewing a webpage.

Brilliant 4” Contour Display:

Nexus S is manufactured by Samsung, and it is the first smartphone to launch with a Contour Display. The curved glass screen fits comfortably in the palm of your hand and along the side of your face.
A brighter screen with higher contrast means colors are incredibly vibrant, text is crisp at any size, and luminance is up to 1.5x higher than conventional LCD displays.

Rear and front-facing cameras:

The rear-facing 5 megapixel camera is capable of taking stunning pictures and HD videos that you can share with friends and family. The front-facing camera can take VGA quality images and video.

Latest Google Mobile apps:

Nexus S comes pre-installed with the best of Google apps, including Google Search, Google Maps with Navigation (Beta), Mobile Instant, Voice Actions, Gmail, Google Earth and more. With Nexus S, be the first to receive upgrades, features and new apps as they become available.

Android Market:

Nexus S provides access to over 100,000 apps, games, and widgets on Android Market.

Speak, don’t poke:

Nexus S listens to you. With Voice Actions, press and hold the Search button from anywhere and speak almost anything.

Internet calling (VoIP/ SIP support):

Gingerbread allows Nexus S to place Internet calls with a SIP account. This allows for enhanced VoIP dialing to other SIP accounts and even phone numbers.

Portable Wi-Fi hotspot:

Nexus S can function as a Wi-Fi hotspot for up to six portable devices such as laptops or tablets. Once connected, these devices will have access to the Internet with no additional carrier fees.

Fast just got faster:

A 1 GHz Hummingbird processor paired with 16GB of internal memory makes Nexus S one of the fastest phones on the market.
Menus open faster, tabs are more responsive, and web pages load quicker with virtually no lag time. Switch between apps effortlessly with true multitasking on Android.
Nexus S has a dedicated Graphics Processing Unit (GPU). Playing mobile games, browsing the web, and watching videos are fast, fluid, and smooth. It’s like having a pocket-sized multimedia and game console.

Outdoor viewing:

Take Nexus S outside, there’s 75% less glare than on other smartphone displays. Your videos, pictures and games look their best and the sun won’t wash them out.
Lighter and thinner profile

The Contour Display uses a thin-profile glass panel, making Nexus S uniquely slim and trim. It’s subtle but you’ll notice.
Near Field Communication (NFC)

Nexus S can read information from “smart” tags, or everyday objects that have NFC chips in them. These can be anything from stickers and movie posters to t-shirts.

Rear and front-facing cameras

The rear-facing 5 megapixel camera is capable of taking stunning pictures and HD videos that you can share with friends and family. The front-facing camera can take VGA quality images and video.

Unlocked by default:

Out of the box, Nexus S is unlocked, so it will work with any GSM carrier.

Never get lost again:

Explore the world from the palm of your hand using Google Maps with Navigation (Beta), Places, and Latitude.

Find local spots like restaurants and ATMs using Places. Then, use Navigation for free turn-by-turn GPS voice guidance.

You can also see hours of operation and reviews for places, get directions, view live traffic conditions, browse Street View imagery, and more.

Entertainment on the go:

More people are watching videos on the go, and using the latest YouTube app for Android means having millions of videos right in your pocket.

YouTube for Android has been redesigned to include a personalized home screen feed, in-page playback, and a rotate-for-fullscreen gesture. Nexus S’ blazing speed makes it easy to browse, play, and upload photos.
Email pushed to your phone

The Gmail app for Android has your favorite Gmail features–from labels to stars to archiving–at the touch of a finger.

With push email, new messages appear in your inbox as soon as they arrive. You’ll always be up to the moment.

- technical specifications:

Availability
