Ah industry firsts, a chance to grab the spotlight before the world grabs hold of your coattails. Toshiba’s Dynabook TX/98MBL claims to be the industry’s first laptop to play back 3D content in Blu-ray format when it ships at the end of July in Japan. The 15.6-inch laptop with LED backlit 120Hz panel (60Hz to each eye when viewed through active shutter glasses) pushing 1,366 x 768 pixels utilizes WinDVD BD to playback the Blu-ray 3D format with some help from NVIDIA’s 3D Vision software and GeForce GTS 350M hardware with 1GB of dedicate video RAM. The pics you see here of the alleged Motorola Xtreme show a slate style Android device with no slide-out keyboard to be seen. Previous spy pics of the Shadow indicated that it might have a QWERTY keyboard. Turns out, though, those previous rumors may have missed the mark. If what we’re seeing here is truly the Motorola Xtreme, then previous images of the Xtreme were off base – those photos showed a slide-out keyboard. What does that mean? It means that what we’re looking at here is either the Shadow or the Xtreme.

Sanyo’s PR claims this camera is the “world’s first waterproof full HD camera,” but unfortunately for them Kodak beat them to the punch. A caveat at the bottom of the PR clarifies that this claim was merely meant for “Full HD video cameras for consumer use with optical zoom lenses,” which naturally makes everything better. We don’t say this very often, but some products are just worth the wait. And well, the ExoPC Slate looks like it’s going to be one of those very products. After months of following along, we finally got to spend some quality time with the 11.6-inch slate at Computex, and came away surprisingly impressed. there’s a 2.0 version of the app for iPhone that brings voice calls over 3G at last. Mobile iPhone calls are free until August, after which you’ll need a “mobile subscription.” We’re testing out the app as we write this and it seems to work about as well any other 3G VoIP app we’ve tried: passable, not revolutionary.

The BlackBerry Bold 9650 coming to Verizon, the LG Gossip heading to Fido, and possible iPad data plans hitting up Fido as well. All came to us via the typical Mr. Blurrycam shots… and this one is no different.
Via Droidlife, we now have leaked shots from within Verizon (NYSE: VZ)’s inventory system. Shots that show the Motorola Shadow and Droid 2 for all to see. Looks like Verizon is going to have much more Android love to share with us over the next little while. Guess Motorola (NYSE: MOT) co-CEO Sanjay Jha was telling the truth.
