Read on after the break for our impressions of this Windows 7 tablet, what that funky UI is all about, and a video of the Slate in action. Skype 2.0 app enables calls over 3G

skype

there’s a 2.0 version of the app for iPhone that brings voice calls over 3G at last. Mobile iPhone calls are free until August, after which you’ll need a “mobile subscription.” We’re testing out the app as we write this and it seems to work about as well any other 3G VoIP app we’ve tried: passable, not revolutionary.
Skype has just released software version 2.0.0 for Apple’s iPhone via an App Store update. Improvements listed for the new version include: Read the rest of this entry »

Motorola Shadow and DROID 2 appear in Verizon inventory

The BlackBerry Bold 9650 coming to Verizon, the LG Gossip heading to Fido, and possible iPad data plans  hitting up Fido as well. All came to us via the typical Mr. Blurrycam shots… and this one is no different.
Via Droidlife, we now have leaked shots from within Verizon (NYSE: VZ)’s inventory system. Shots that show the Motorola Shadow and Droid 2 for all to see. Looks like Verizon is going to have much more Android love to share with us over the next little while. Guess Motorola (NYSE: MOT) co-CEO Sanjay Jha was telling the truth.
